Methodology and limitations
The report counts records marked active and classified under Internal Revenue Code subsection 03 in the FoundationOS nonprofit registry. Cities are normalized into stable URL slugs, and cause summaries use the first character of the organization’s NTEE code.
An IRS registry match confirms a listed EIN and classification; it does not independently verify every program, operating claim, donation link, or event. Organization-submitted profile details are labeled separately.
